Skadar Lake National Park is the largest bird sanctuary in Europe, with more than half of all bird species in Europe. It is also a resort for migratory birds.
While boating, you may spot a Dalmatian Pelican, a Dwarf Cormorant, a Yellow Heron or some other rare bird species.
The islands on the Skadar Lake are a true paradise for birds. Island Grmožur is known as the island of birds, island Beska is a home to wild pigeons and some species of owls, while on the island Omer is Gorica you will be able to see muster of storks.
For a complete birdwatching experience, there are towers and platforms that have been built on the islands.
